Google review request generator: text and email to copy
A good review request is short, names the job, comes from a person and includes the link. Fill in the fields and copy the text, the email or the reminder. Send it the same day the job is finished and paid, and send one reminder at most.

Reminder, 3 to 5 days later

When and how to ask
- Ask in person first. The tech says a review would help and that a link is coming.
- Send the request the same day. After the job is done and paid, while it is fresh.
- Send one reminder. Three to five days later, then stop.
- Reply to every review. Thank the good ones by name and answer the bad ones calmly with a way to reach you.
You get the review link from your Google Business Profile, under the option to ask for reviews.
Rules to stay inside
- Ask every customer. Sending the link only to happy customers is against Google's policy.
- No rewards. Do not offer discounts or gifts for a review.
- Text only people who agreed to texts, and honor STOP. See texting rules for contractors.
General information. Check Google's current review policy and the texting rules that apply to you.
Having it sent for you
The hard part is remembering to ask after every job. Alvin can see which jobs were finished and paid, draft the request in your wording and hold it for approval, then draft a reply when the review arrives. More wording in the Google review request templates.
Frequently asked questions
How do I ask a customer for a Google review?
Ask in person when the job is done, then send a short message the same day with the job named and the review link included. Keep it to two or three sentences and send one reminder at most.
Is it OK to text customers asking for a review?
Texting rules depend on consent, your state and your texting provider. Text customers who gave you their number for messages about their job, identify your business and honor opt-outs. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I offer a discount for a Google review?
No. Google's policy does not allow incentives for reviews. Ask every customer the same way and make the link easy to use.
